The Iconic Mercedes-Benz SUV demonstrates its Fit for Fashion Title

MONTVALE, N.J., Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Lincoln Center is a buzz with the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (#MBFW) as it gets underway from September 6-13, 2012 with a line-up of over 100 designers showing their Spring 2013 Collections. Among the most world-renowned designers, Mercedes-Benz is highlighting a fashion icon of its own, the all-new 2013 G-Class available as the G550 or the G63 AMG with V8 Bi-Turbo engine.

Conceived thirty-three years ago, the G-Class “G-Wagon” is one of the most highly-recognizable luxury off-road vehicles. It is dressed up while cruising the cobblestone streets of SOHO, and athletic while seriously going off-road. The sculpted, muscular body and hand crafted interior of the all-new 2013 G-Class is fit for fashion and its design and capabilities will come to life in the main lobby of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.

In a high-end gym setting, the G-Class will sit center stage showing off its indestructible yet beautiful design that has been carefully crafted by hand, from the ground up, with the purest and most technically-advanced materials. Forty hours of craftsmanship are evident in the welded steel body frame, giving it the upright shape and athletic appearance it is infamous for.

The G-Class will also star in an invite-only media event that explores fit for fashion with Barry’s Bootcamp, hosted by their COO and celebrity trainer, Joey Gonzalez, Olympian Alex Morgan and top model Joan Smalls. Joey and his team have created workout moves that incorporate the G-Class and fashion fitness. Whether participating in the designer handbag heist, to see which fashionista can lift the heaviest haul, shaping legs with lunges to fit into skinny jeans or packing the G-Class trunk via squats from the day’s shopping spree, guests will walk away with tips on how to be fit for fashion during the frenetic week of shows until the season’s Spring Collection hits the closet.

    2013 Mercedes-Benz G Class – Review

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class model is not your typical luxury SUV.  In fact, it blows all of the other luxury SUVs out of the water!  The legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class model is safe, durable and is an icon of strength and luxury.  Our Mercedes-Benz dealers in New Jersey love this new Mercedes-Benz model with all of its power and style.

When it comes to luxury off-road vehicles, few can match the Mercedes-Benz G Class for capabilities, swagger or price tag. Said to be developed for the Shah of Iran’s military in the 1970s, the G Class is equally at home dune-bashing outside of Riyadh or dicing for a parking space on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Its retro-funky, box-on-box styling is absolutely ageless (which is one reason why Mercedes-Benz hasn’t done much of a restyle on the latest version), and the G Class will get you noticed, whether you’re a pro baller or a well-heeled soccer mom. Despite its “hey, look at me” appearance, the G Class will absolutely deliver you from point A to point B in (relative) comfort, regardless of roads (or the lack thereof) and weather conditions.

That kind of comfort and capability comes at a price, and the least expensive G Class model, the G550, starts at over $107,000. That buys you the expected interior amenities, like butter-soft leather, genuine wood trim, premium carpeting and plenty of sound-deadening insulation to mask the G’s origin. Only the Land Rover Range Rover, or perhaps the Lexus LX 570, come close to matching the G Class in both amenities and off-road capability, but neither can match the Mercedes-Benz for prestige.

Stay tuned right here at your local Mercedes-Benz dealership in New Jersey to get the latest Mercedes-Benz news.

For lovers of Mercedes’ most classic model, the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class was officially unveiled to the world today, well in advance of its June launch. Maintaining its legendary design that’s noted worldwide accolade over the past 30 years, the facelifted 2013 G-Class and G63 AMG offer the perfect amount of updates while staying true to its heritage.

Exterior modifications include new LED daytime driving lamps and new exterior mirrors, while the AMG version also features a new, characteristic AMG radiator grille with double louvers and new bumpers with large air intakes. More options include red brake calipers and 20-inch wheels, available for the first time.

The major changes to the updated G-Class can be seen on the inside, where a completely redesigned center console and instrument panel have been added.  Features include new controls and updated trim as well as a TFT color display in the instrument cluster between the two round gauges. A large color screen positioned in the center is part of the COMAND system, and it incorporates a DVD changer as well as the standard COMAND Controller.

Engine options for the 2013 G-Class include the powerful 5.5-litre V8 gasoline engine in the G550, which has an output of 388 hp and 391 lb-ft. of torque.  As is to be expected, the engine is mated to the familiar 7-speed automatic transmission. This is now the sixth generation of the stepped automatic transmission that has been developed and produced by Mercedes-Benz (starting from 1960), and it has once again been thoroughly revised and optimized in regard to both consumption and comfort.  And for the power hungry among you, a new G63 AMG with V8 biturbo engine outputting 544 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque has been added to the lineup, which features the ECO stop/stop system as standard.

    2010 Mercedes-Benz G350 BlueTEC uncovered

    Monday, March 1st, 2010

Fresh off the press this morning at 4wheelsnews is an announcement that Mercedes-Benz has  revealed today its latest version of the classic G-Class off-roader, now in its 31st year, features state-of-the-art BlueTEC technology.

For those who don’t know BlueTEC is a technology developed by the German manufacturer in order to reduce diesel vehicle emissions, especially nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The new G 350 BlueTEC uses AdBlue, an aqueous urea solution which is injected into the exhaust-gas stream. This process releases ammonia, which means that 80 percent of the nitrogen oxides are converted into harmless nitrogen and water by a process of reduction in the downstream SCR catalytic converter.

All of you know that the G-Class is used in remote areas of the world, this is one of its main purposes, and due to this the German engineers integrated an AdBlue filler cap in the vehicle’s outside tank recess. With this filter cap, the manufacturer says that one full tank of AdBlue is enough for around 12,000 kilometres.

Regarding the engine, the car uses a V6 diesel capable to deliver 155 kW (210 hp) at 3400 rpm and a torque of 540 Nm between 1600 and 2400 rpm. The engine delivers substantially fewer emissions than the previous G 350 CDI model and reduces NOx emissions by around 50 %. The Mercedes-Benz G 350 BlueTEC can be ordered in three body variants: a short-wheelbase Station Wagon, long-wheelbase Station Wagon and Convertible.

For those who don’t want a green car, they can always switch to the powerful powerful 5.5 litre V8 petrol engine developing 285 kW (388 hp) with a torque of 530 Nm or chose the powerful G55 AMG with its V8 supercharged engine developing 373 kW (507 hp) with an impressive peak torque of 700 Nm.

The standard specification of the G 350 BlueTEC includes includes the electronically controlled traction system 4ETS, the Electronic Stability Program ESP and three differential locks selectable at the push of a button, alongside the permanent all-wheel drive with off-road ratio and the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission.
