Expected to launch toward the end of 2013, an early version of the new Mercedes-Benz BLS-Class was recently spied testing. This new sedan is expected to be called  the BLS because of its striking resemblance to its older sibling, the Mercedes-Benz CLS. Like the CLS, the BLS is expected to be a 4-door coupe-style Mercedes-Benz.

Aside from the BLS, the new B-Class family is set to include a van-style model, much like a model that is currently being sold in England. Rumor has it that this B-Class family will also include a “BLK” compact crossover, perhaps similar in concept to the current GLK-Class.

According to the pictures below, the new BLS-Class boasts a new front-wheel drive system which is supposedly codenamed, “MFA (Mercedes Frontwheel Architecture).” As per usual, we’re suspecting all-wheel drive will also be an option for this new Mercedes-Benz. We can also expect to see a high-performance AMG version of the BLS as well.

“When faced with a day’s drive back home, there are usually a few ways you can go. But when you’re in a car like the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, there’s really only one way — the long way.

The road back from California’s famed Napa wine country — where Benz hosted another CLS-Class press inoculation — to MT HQ in L.A. offers lots of tasty options. This time down I’d peel off Highway 101 at Gilroy heading southeast on Route 25. From the 25 I’d head east onto Route 198, cutting a swath through California’s central valley farm country, then hook back onto the I-5 for the home stretch.

Routes 25 and 198 offer a wonderful mix of flat, wide-open straights and challenging kinks through practically deserted farm country. Only the stray car (and cow) heard the maniacal roar from the CLS63 AMG’s all-new 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 hurtling at them under full throttle, with the massive three-pointed star, single-strake grille, and daytime LED running lights filling up the rear view — fast.

The exterior of the new CLS63 is taut, athletic, and ready for action, with neat AMG touches including a carbon lip spoiler, more aggressive front fascia, and tasty exhaust tips nestled at each end of a black diffuser. Benz is quick to point out that design is the main reason buyers gravitate toward the Mercedes-Benz CLS, and while one-upping the first-gen car’s now iconic design was a tall order, lead designer Hubert Lee (he was that kid in your history class drawing cars) and his team have arguably pulled it off, depending upon your subjective outlook.”

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is the sportiest of all super sports cars

Germany’s specialist motoring magazine “Sport Auto” had called upon its readers to vote for “The sportiest cars of 2011″. And in the super sports car category, the SLS AMG crossed the finishing line in first place. It was the gull-wing model’s second appearance in a row on the winner’s podium.

With its eye-catching design and exquisite technology, the gull-wing model is reminiscent of the renowned 300 SL sports car of the 1950s. Among the highlights of the Mercedes-Benz SLS are its aluminum space-frame body, AMG 6.3-litre V8 front mid-engine with 420 kW (571 hp) and 480 foot pounds of torque, seven-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement and aluminum double-wishbone sports suspension. This high-tech combination guarantees the ultimate in driving dynamics and will accelerate the heart of any sports car enthusiast.

“Sport Auto” has carried out its reader poll for “The sportiest cars” each year since 1980, in which sports car enthusiasts cast their votes for their four-wheeled favorites in terms both of performance and sportiness. This year, 11,392 readers joined in to select the sportiest production models.

The 2012 SLS AMG Roadster has been revealed and it is currently being put to the test. New photos have been released of the SLS AMG supercar traveling at top speed on a perpendicular road. The new Mercedes-Benz roadster has been limited to travel a maximum of 197 mph, but the soft top can be operated at up to 31 mph. The 2012 SLS AMG is set to be officially debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.

Mercedes-Benz just revealed photos of the C63 AMG coupe which will be landing in showrooms this fall as a 2012 model.  Thanks to autoweek.com we have information on the 2012 C63 AMG coupe!

“Power is drawn from AMG’s four-year old M156 engine. In standard guise, the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 kicks out 451 hp along with 443 lb-ft of torque–sufficient to eclipse the M3’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V8 by 37 hp and a generous 148 lb-ft.  Drive runs through AMG’s seven-speed MCT (multiclutch transmission), a development of Mercedes-Benz’s 7G-tronic unit that adds a wet clutch in place of the torque converter, and a 2.85:1 final drive to the rear wheels. Official figures put the 0-to-62-mph sprint at 4.4-seconds–half a second inside the time BMW quotes for the M3. Top speed, as with all standard AMG models, is limited to 155 mph.”

Thanks to eMercedesBenz we have official photos of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class that were just revealed online prior to its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show.  The new Mercedes Coupe will be hitting the U.S. in September.

Similarly based off the C-Class sedan’s mechanical package with 113-inch wheelbase, the new coupe retains the same basic styling as the four-door sedan, but with a sportier two-door layout and a 1.6” lower roofline.  The C-Class Coupe will have B-pillars, a feature not seen on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe.

Two standard versions of the C-Class Coupe are planned for sale in North America including the entry-level C250 CGI with a 201-hp turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and the C350 CGI with a 302-hp naturally aspirated V6 engine – a model that should boast a 0-to-62-mph acceleration in 6.0 seconds.
