THE PRACTICAL DESIGN AND OUTSTANDING QUALITY OF THE MERCEDES SPRINTER TRANSLATE TO IMPRESSIVE CARGO CAPACITY AND LOW OPERATING COSTS

    Source: http://www.emercedesbenz.com

With its sleek, eye‐catching design, impressive cargo capacity and efficient turbodiesel engine, the highly successful Sprinter commercial van continues to set the pace for the modern van market segment, and has enjoyed tremendous sales growth in the U.S. After decades of truck‐based box vans with gasoline engines, the Sprinter burst into the European market in 1995, then made its U.S. debut in 2001.

The practical design and outstanding quality of the Sprinter translate to impressive cargo capacity and low operating costs. With its efficient BlueTEC diesel engine, the Sprinter gets higher fuel mileage than its competitors, while its high roof and large door openings give the van class‐leading cargo carrying ability. Large delivery companies have moved to Sprinter vans, and it’s also become a favorite of small businesses such as catering firms and building trades.

    The Sprinter Success Story

The Sprinter cargo van features a best‐in‐class payload capacity of 5,415 pounds and cargo capacity of up to 547 cubic feet. The van also boasts the largest side‐ and rear‐door openings as well as the lowest load floor and step‐in height of any full‐size van.

The Sprinter has been sold in the U.S. since 2001 by Freightliner, the leading manufacturer of medium and heavy‐duty trucks in North America, and through select Mercedes‐Benz dealers since 2010. Both MBUSA and Freightliner are divisions of Daimler AG, the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

All Sprinters come with a number of Mercedes‐Benz safety features ‐‐ ESP stability and rollover control, ABS anti‐lock brakes, Brake Assist and traction control. The driver and front passenger seats are equipped with standard multi‐stage front air bags, and side curtain and torso air bags are optionally available.

Though we’ve been spying prototypes for the upcoming CLA Class from Mercedes-Benz, the sedan version of the German automaker’s new compact range, for more than a year, so far all of these have been heavily camouflaged. Now the first official images of the new compact sedan have been revealed, showing off the car’s design ahead of its debut next month.
The images confirm Mercedes’ design team has managed to retain the distinctive look of the Concept Style Coupe unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, for the production version.
The front of the CLA Class is almost identical to the latest A Class hatchback launched overseas, while the body gets four-door coupe styling that makes it resemble the CLS Class, albeit on a smaller scale.

Under its pretty sheet metal is a version of Mercedes’ latest front-wheel drive platform, code-named MFA (Mercedes Frontwheel Architecture). This new platform is flexible enough to spawn a variety of models including hatchbacks, coupes and even a crossover, and it will offer the option of 4MATIC all-wheel drive. U.S.-delivered cars are likely to come with 4MATIC as standard.

The car’s overall length will stretch just over 15 feet, and inside there should be ample space for four adults. A fifth-seat option may be available. The interior design, as expected, is identical to that found in the A Class hatchback.

A performance-tuned 4MATIC system will be standard in the AMG version of the new CLA Class, which is likely to be called the CLA45 AMG and come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at more than 330 horsepower.

Arrive safely and on time—thanks to these pointers

Getting to and from your holiday road trip destination can be a special time filled with memories that last a lifetime or turn into a road trip disaster. Here are seven tips to help you plan, prepare, save money and keep the entire family happy and safe on the road this holiday season.

    Rent It

If your vehicle is not in the best condition, costs a bundle to fill up or is not roomy enough to make your holiday road trip enjoyable, think about renting a hybrid or a more fuel efficient vehicle. Make it fun by having everyone vote on what vehicle to rent based on the choices that fit your budget and lifestyle. Many car rental companies offer unlimited mileage programs, just be sure to check with your insurance agent to make sure your auto-insurance policy covers rental cars.

    Fix It

Before you leave on your holiday road trip be sure to have your vehicle checked out and serviced to make sure your trip is not ruined by a break-down that ends up costing you a bundle in unplanned repairs and time. Have them check your brakes, air filter, belts, hoses, wiper blades and all the fluids and do a complete diagnostic to make sure all the systems of your vehicle are running at 100%. If your wiper blades are okay but not great, get them changed. Driving in winter storms with new wiper blades will improve visibility and help you make safer driving decisions.

    Check It

Your tires are the only four points that touch the road. Keeping tires properly inflated and checking your tires for wear and tear before you get on the road will keep you and your precious cargo safe and help maintain better fuel economy. An easy way to tell if you need new tires is “The Penny Test”. Stick a penny into a tire groove. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, it’s time for new tires. Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper tire pressure. This information is located on the driver door panel or in your owner’s manual.

What to do if your car is damaged in a storm

    Friday, November 2nd, 2012

Hurricane Sandy has affected all of us here in the tri-state area, including our NJ Mercedes-Benz dealership. It was one of the most massive and destructible storms that has ever hit our area in all history.

This article below has some immediate tips for those who have found damage from flooding during this Superstorm. The employees at our NJ Mercedes-Benz dealership are always here if you have any service questions. If you need help repairing your Mercedes-Benz vehicle you can always schedule service with us. We hope you and your family are safe and we are here to help in anyway.

If you find your car has been damaged, flooded, or are otherwise rendered inoperable by Superstorm Sandy, there are steps that need to be taken immediately.

    Assess the damage.

If the car is parked in a flooded situation, or stalled in deep water, turning it on can do serious engine damage. Plus, water in the electrical system could cause a fire. Take photos of the vehicle and context, showing the area around the car. Having visual evidence of how the damaged occurred may help with processing the claim.

    Button it up.

If a window was cracked or knocked out in the storm, be sure to cover it and seal it tight to prevent further water intrusion and damage. A tarp and packing tape should do the job.

Read up on your insurance policy.

If you have comprehensive coverage, your vehicle is covered for a variety of accidents and natural occurrences. However, if you only have liability insurance, then damage to your car is not covered. When in doubt, call your insurance company to get the details and start the claim process.

Determine whether you can salvage or need to trash your car.

If the vehicle is not operable, you will need to have it assessed. You may find a local, certified mechanic who could give the car a quick driveway inspection and advise on next steps. Otherwise, you may need to have it towed to a repair shop where the vehicle can be inspected top to bottom, looking for potential damage and water intrusion, and making sure the electronics and airbags are functional.

    Avoid stinky-car syndrome.

Flooded cars eventually smell moldy and musty, especially if water soaked the carpet and fabrics. Removing those odors is a tall task, without replacing the saturated materials.  Another concern for trapped moisture is that parts may begin to rust, which could compromise the structure and cause significant damage. It is key to dry out the car quickly, cleaning it thoroughly, and potentially replacing carpet or other materials.

A truly flooded car can be repaired, but at a high price. You will need to weigh the cost of fixing it and risk of dependability with the price of buying a new or used car. Of course, your insurance coverage may guide this decision.

    2015 Mercedes-Benz S Class Cabrio Spy Shots

We here at this NJ Mercedes-Benz dealership is pleased to share future spy shot Mercedes-Benz vehicles! It will be awhile for this beauty to arrive, but its definitely worth to keep an eye out for. The employees here at this NJ Mercedes-Benz dealership believes this new S-Class model will be a hot item in the future summer months. Make sure to come visit your local Mercedes-Benz dealership in New Jersey to get great deals on all our new and used Mercedes-Benz models.

    Source: motorauthority.com

These are our first spy shots of a new convertible version of the redesigned 2014 S Class, which luxury German automaker Mercedes-Benz should be launching approximately one year after the arrival of the regular sedan late next summer.

A convertible S Class has been rumored ever since the unveiling of the stunning Ocean Drive concept at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, and if you look closely this latest prototype even has similar wheel to the ones on the original concept.

Unlike the Ocean Drive, which kept a four-door body, the new S Class convertible, which Mercedes will likely call an S Class Cabriolet, will only feature two doors. And don’t be fooled by the prototype’s hard-top roof; it’s almost certain to be a dummy unit hiding a conventional folding soft-top underneath.

The addition of new, more premium S Class variants is part of Mercedes’ plans to expand into the ultra-luxury segment now that Maybach has been discontinued. This will see a handful of new S Class variants launched over the coming years, including the regular sedan and long-wheelbase models, an extra long ‘Pullman’ limo, this S Class Cabriolet, and a new S Class coupe to replace the CL Class.
