Mercedes GP unveils new 2010 Formula 1 vehicle

“World Champions Mercedes GP unveiled their new MGP W01 car in Valencia prior to the commencement of pre-season testing on Monday. The team’s new challenger, which will be raced by Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, features the ‘Silver Arrow’ livery that the team unveiled at Mercedes-Benz’s museum in Stuttgart last week.

The design features an unusual version of the ‘V-nose’ trend started by Red Bull last season – the Mercedes’ nose being extremely slim and also having a dip in the middle. The chassis also sports a dorsal fin engine cover, albeit a much smaller one than that seen on cars launched by rivals in recent days.

Rosberg was the first of their drivers to try out the new car on Monday morning, with Schumacher to take over in the afternoon.”

The Ray Catena Mercedes dealerships in NJ have finally made it to the social media space, including two fantastic YouTube accounts (Edison and Union).  Our favorite thing to do now is search through Mercedes Benz videos, and we’ve happened to stumble upon a slew of really awesome older Mercedes Benz TV commercials.  Our recent favorite is a hilariously simple and short commercial for the Mercedes Benz E Class.  It’s an older commercial, but revisiting it had all of us in the dealership in stitches.  Check it out below.

Okay, we’ll admit it: we’re a bit obsessed with Mercedes Benz. But, as it turns out, we’re not the only ones! We recently stumbled upon this funny article about The Ten Commandments for Mercedes Benz Owners. Check out a few of our favorites below, and read the full article to get the rest of the rules. Mercedes Benz forever!

    1. Thou shall not have any false gods before me: If you drive a Mercedes-Benz and you claim that you love it, you should never, ever get any other type of car and love it more than your Benz. Your Mercedes Benz is your only friend.

    5. Thou shall honor thy father and mother: You should always show your respect for older models of the Mercedes-Benz.

    7. Thou shall not commit adultery: To drive any other car, any make, model, or any other Mercedes Benz that is not your own is extremely forbidden. That goes for looking at one or touching another one as well.

Hilarious! Don’t forget to check out the other ones!

We already knew the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG would be made in limited quantities, and even less of those models would actually be sold in the United States. Still, we couldn’t help but obsess over this beautifully made vehicle. However, with rumors circulating that the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG commercial will begin airing on U.S. televisions this coming May, we can’t help but wonder if Mercedes Benz might be sending more models than formerly expected. Critics say Mercedes Benz will air the commercial as a marketing ploy to revamp their image, but us Mercedes Benz lovers know that can’t be the case. So what is the purpose of airing this commercial in the U.S. if, indeed, the distribution of the SLS AMG vehicles is meant to be so limited. We can’t wait to find out!

Detroit News spotted the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL a full two years before it’s set to his the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and we’re lucky they did! This exclusive sneak peak at the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL has us really excited for it’s lease.  The 2012 SL maintains the car’s legendary classic layout, along with the retractable metal roof and long front and rear overhangs that have long been key features of this model. New to the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL is the upright grille, which came about due to pedestrian safety regulations in the European Union.  Also different to this model is it’s location.  Formerly production on Mercedes Benz SL models took place in Bremen, Germany, but the 2012 SL will be produced in Stuttgart.

What do you guys think of the 2012 Mercedes Benz SL?

PRNewswire announced today that Mercedes Benz has been ranked among Fortune magazine’s ‘100 Top Companies to Work For’!  We already know what an incredible honor it is to be an employee of Mercedes Benz, but check out the excerpt below for what Fortune editors and MBUSA President and CEO, Ernst Lieb had to say about this amazing recognition.

“FORTUNE Deputy Managing Editor Hank Gilman says, “The most important considerations for this year’s list were hiring and the ways in which companies are helping their employees weather the recession.  All 100 companies on our list are currently hiring, many of them aggressively, leading to more than 96,000 open job positions expected in the next year.”

“This is gratifying if you believe, as we do, that in order for a company to achieve long-term success, particularly in this economic environment, it has to have the full engagement, commitment and passion of its employees,” stated Ernst Lieb, President and CEO, MBUSA.  ”Only then can you inspire your retail network to do the same and deliver the dream that customers associate with the Mercedes-Benz brand.”‘
